This is very annoying because I study and draw in 2D and only use 3D when the clients « don’t see in space », witch is very rare since I draw mostly for myself, engineers and architects for execution matters. But what ever I do, trying all available options, even drawing scale 1:1 and exporting with a ratio of 1, I never get proper scale while importing in SU.
It’s different with CadWork, witch permit to draw at different scale on same page. I tried all of them and got the same result (see screen capture, the base is supposed to be 10 meters). The only options available are « save as » in different formats. AutoCad has no options to export DXF/DWG in different scales. I basically know all this, witch I experimented with AutoCAd. It’s years it has been like this, I never seen any progress and I abandoned trying… Do you know something I don’t know ? This issue is not new (I posted a few times concerns about this) and I never had other answer than « Import it and rescale it using this or that method / tools »…Īfter time consuming manipulations, I did succeed to get to the proper scale (1:1) in SU, but never with total precision for complicated or charged drawings. Even in a 1:1 scale exported, I never succeeded without having to battle in SU. I tried everything to be able to import DXF/DWG from both programs into SU. So with a little trying / training, there are solutions to work, once the know how is acquired, without having to restore to the proper scale. The « not always compatibility » stand in surface fills, witch can vary from one to the other. It’s 2 different approach for drawing and printing but they are perfectly compatible with one another, with proper setups, to export and import in desired scales. It prints at the same scale used for drawing with a possibility to print in other scales. What I know about CadWork is that the drawing can be done in different scales. To print in other scales, it needs to be formatted for printing in the desired scale. It is not possible to draw in specific scales (unless I don’t know something). What I know about AutoCad is that the drawing is always scale 1:1. I don’t have the science of DXF/DWGs, but I know a few things about few programs and made few experiences with few programs.
